Most of the year is still dry and sunny.
The hurricane season extends between June and November although in Cabo it is active between August and September and there are occasional storms experienced during early October.
Although in these months, tropical storms may occur, there are few hurricane hits in the city of Cabo. Many storms weaken even before they reach the shores of Cabo.
The ocean temperatures vary according to seasons:
Winter: 68°F - 72°F
Spring: 70°F - 75°F
Summer: 80°F - 85°F
Fall: 82°F - 86°F
The warmest ocean water is during July through October making late summer and early fall the perfect time for swimming, snorkeling and boating. Warm water temperatures also mean it is even more comfortable to paddleboard and enjoy other water activities in the ocean.
Winter and early spring seasons bring slightly cooler ocean temperatures which many anglers believe is prime fishing season in Cabo. It was also during such colder water months that the whale watching season (December through March) takes place.
Cabo Surfing can be done all year round but the bigger swells are usually experienced during late summer and early fall as a result of pacific storm systems. Novices would be more likely to ride in more favorable weather in spring, and the more advanced surfers monitor the south swells during hurricane season.
The best time to visit Cabo depends on what you like to do:
Best overall weather: November through May
