Charter Yachts New Home

Monday night, April 12th, saw the official opening of the new boat storage and maintenance facility at the Puerto Los Cabos small craft harbour. The 20,000 sq ft dry-stack facility with a 150 ton Travelift crane can handle vessels up to 125 feet in length and got a good test by hauling up the 110 ft Panache. This is the first dry storage facility in Baja and should be of interest to many boat owners in the area who are absent for long periods of time. The dry stack storage facility is for boats and tenders up to 33 feet.

The Travelift is the most modern lifting device available and is designed to displace the points of pressure on lifts to reduce stress on the hull. The company operating the facility have brought in experienced staff from their operation in San Diego.

The Panache is a charter yacht that can be rented through Sun Cabo Vacations as part of a full accommodation package or day or part day fishing or cruises. Please call one of our agents to get the most up to date rates and information.

True Luxury for Less Money

Los Cabos has 3 world class and renowned resorts that provide unsurpassed luxury accommodations and services: Las Ventanas, Esperanza and the One & Only Palmilla. The last two have residential communities close to them that provide similar levels of accommodations to visitors wanting the privacy and intimacy of a villa rather than a hotel.

In Palmilla case the name actually includes not only the hotel but also several residential communities. Sun Cabo has been privileged to be the only agency allowed to promote Villas del Mar since the formation of the community's rental program. These homes became an easy sell for anyone looking for excellent service, accommodations, and resort amenities that were provided by the opening of Club 96, the residents' beach club. The only barrier for some was the price as a typical 3 bedroom started at $2800.00 per night plus 14% tax.

Now another option is available at less than half the price in Punta Ballena (Whale Point) which is adjacent to the Auberge Resort of Esperanza. These new homes are 4 to 6 bedroom with access to their own beach club (view from which is shown in the picture). The beach club has a restaurant and bar, spa and fitness equipment and the best views of Lands End, the very tip of the Baja in Cabo San Lucas. The view is even better in January, February and March as the hump back whales begin their migration to Alaska and Northern British Columbia.

Please check out the Sun Cabo Vacations website for these new additions to the largest selection of true luxury villas:

Saddle up in Cabo

Ever imagined galloping down a sandy beach at sunset on horseback? There is no better place to do this than Mexico! Endless stretches of sand ensure a great ride every time. Whether you are a seasoned pro or have never experienced the excitement of riding, there are horses for every level. Trips typically run mid-morning or late afternoon when the temperature is cooler, for the safety and comfort of the horses and the riders! You don't need jeans and boots to ride the horses, long pants and runners are sufficient (but best to avoid flip-flops and shorts). We would be happy to arrange a memorable horseback ride for you and your family on your next trip down to beautiful Los Cabos!

Cabo Experts

What do travel professionals do when the phone is not ringing and fewer emails are hitting the inbox?  In our case we decided to find ways in which we could ensure that we were giving the added value you always intended to provide.  Through the Mexico Tourism Board all our agents, myself included, enrolled in a Baja and Cabo specific course.

It is always interesting to find how much you know about something (or how much you did not).  Our intent by pursuing further education is to ensure that we continue to provide value and insight to our clients about new hotels, restaurants and activities in addition to our in-depth knowledge of the villas, condos and resorts we represent.

Our reward might only be the dubious title of 'Cabo Expert' bestowed upon us by Mexico Tourism Board and a piece of paper but it has already proved worthwhile in the service we have provided to several clients in the last few weeks.
