Swine Flu Cabo - Travel to Mexico still ok

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is continuing to monitor the ongoing situation regarding the outbreak of swine flu in both Mexico and the United States. At the time of this alert, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have NOT recommended against travel to Mexico. The United States has imposed no additional constraints or limitations on travel between the United States and Mexico, although travelers are encouraged to comply with suggestions by Mexican public health officials and to be alert to good health and sanitation practices. As with any situation such as this, it is incumbent on travel agents to inform their customers about the situation and provide them with the necessary resources so that they can make an informed decision.

Additionally, ASTA has received reports that various U.S. airline carriers have begun to alter their cancellation policies for travelers to Mexico. Please check with the individual carrier for more information.

As always, Sun Cabo Vacations recommends that all travellers purchase Travel Insurance to protect themselves of any such incidents. As of this post there are currently no cases of Swine Flu confirmed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
