Occupying two beachfront lots in Cabo's most exclusive gated
community, Palmilla Caleta, Casa La Cascada is one of Cabo's
true elite homes. The entrance from the street is unique
and therefore easy to locate with Hawaiian styled gates
depicting Bird of Paradise flowers and foliage. Even though
the house, like the waterfall that runs down the middle,
cascades down the slope toward the beach it is a house that
works for people with mobility issues. The present owner
installed a 4 level elevator which is accessible from the
entrance level, both main levels of the house and to the
beach.
Originally the house was on a single lot that was
subsequently expanded when the owner bought the neighboring
lot and added an additional master bedroom, office,
gymnasium, wet bar, living area, and movie theater. The
increased space also allowed room for a unique wine cellar
with bar and card table and a second swimming pool. The
property offers 6 bedrooms with staff quarters that could be
used to make it a 7 bedroom house. The first bedroom is at
the top of the waterfall and like the other rooms it is
named for their views:
'Cabo Este' - the East Cape room is the highest bedroom and
has a queen bed, private terrace with chaise, and ensuite
bathroom. The room is equipped with a telephone as are all
the rooms and both elevators; the telephone system connects
to all the rooms in the house as well as having two vonage
phone lines for free calling to the US and Canada.
'Alta Vista' - the High View room has dramatic ocean views
and offers a king sized bed with a small private terrace and
bathroom with a shower.
'Punta Palmilla' - the original master bedroom has a
California king bed, TV, and large master bathroom with a
marble bath, large shower with multiple shower heads and a
rain shower. The second elevator goes from the bedroom down
to the kitchen on the level below.
'Punta Gorda' - this bedroom is across a small foot bridge
across the waterfall and is furnished with a queen bed,
writing desk, small terrace and private bathroom, which has
a shower.
'Ballena Vista' - Whale View is part of the newer addition
and is the master suite, pocket windows open the bedroom to
the sea breezes and make the most of the stunning view. The
room has a king bed, several telephones, TV, small fridge
and a large bathroom and dressing area including a small
washer and dryer. The bathroom has both a bath and separate
shower.
'Luna Vista' - The Moon View bedroom is on the lower level
and also has a king bed and private bathroom with shower.
The suite opens onto a terrace which becomes the lawn and
lower pool area.
The house truly includes water, be it the waterfall and
stream cascading down beside the steps, the ocean views or
the series of swimming pools. The the pool area in front of
the great room and kitchen houses the outdoor grill area and
small dining area located to enjoy the sunsets to the West.
The pool itself is broken into three parts on two levels
with a water slide connecting them. The spa/jacuzzi is also
on the lower level.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large pantry and
fridges behind it as well as a separate butler kitchen. In
the area behind the kitchen is access to the elevator that
connects to the bedroom, Punta Palmilla.Beside the upper
pool is a full bathroom with shower and this is where you
will find the movie theater, which also has a half bathroom.
The projection screen allows guests to relax and watch
either satellite TV or select from a library of more than
300 movies in comfort.
The development of the new lot allowed the owner to add both
a well equipped gymnasium and an elevator down to the beach
boat house. The gym houses a series of machines which will
keep anyone wanting to work out happy. There is a TV,
refreshment center, steam room and bathroom.
