Important Travel Information

The Government of Mexico requires that all US and Canadian citizens show proof of citizenship along with photo identification for entry into Mexico. You are required to have a valid piece of picture ID, such as a driver’s license, and one of the following: an original birth certificate (photocopies are not accepted), a citizenship or naturalization card, or a valid passport. If you are a US citizen traveling to Mexico, you must carry a valid passport in order to enter or re-enter the United States. Current regulations now stipulate that all Canadian citizens transiting through the United States must present a valid passport to US Customs. Although you may be traveling onto Mexico, if your connecting flight departs from a US airport, a valid passport is required. Sun Cabo Vacations strongly recommends carrying a valid passport for all international travel. A passport is the only universally accepted identification document, and it is much easier to replace (if lost or stolen) than other IDs when traveling outside of your home country.

Before landing in Mexico, flight crew will give you a Mexican Tourist Card as well as a Customs Declaration Form. Each visitor, including infants and children, must fill out a Tourist Card. This card must be filled out completely or you will be sent to the back of the customs line. A visa is required for any travel into Mexico for purposes other than tourism.

Minors (persons under the age of 18) are required to carry a notarized letter of consent (along with their proof of citizenship) signed by BOTH parents, giving permission for the minor to travel alone. If the minor is traveling with one parent, he or she must have a notarized letter of consent from the absent parent giving permission for the traveling parent to take the minor out of the country. If one parent is deceased, the death certificate must be presented. All travel regulations are subject to change. Sun Cabo Vacations advises that travelers check the Consular Affairs websites of their respective home countries before leaving for Los Cabos.
